Marie-Louise Rouff grew up in Luxembourg, and has lived in India as well as France, where she studied at the Sorbonne in Paris.
After relocating to St. Louis, Missouri, Marie-Louise registered for a drawing class at Washington University. Although she was close to obtaining her doctorate in French, the class ignited her passion for painting. She changed course completely and earned a degree in art from Washington University School of Fine Arts. A successful art career has led to her paintings and monotypes figuring in a number of corporate and private collections, including that of the State Museum of Luxembourg.
Now living on the Vineyard, Marie-Louise feels the inspiration of her surroundings as she continues to pursue new concepts and approaches from her peaceful and serene Island studio.
Marie-Louise Rouff is represented on Martha's Vineyard by the Louisa Gould Gallery at 54 Main Street in Vineyard Haven.
